Chat
Conversations between a complex’s owners, residents and the management office, with moderation and attachments.
Chat brings the people of a complex together without sharing phone numbers: nobody sees anyone else’s phone or email.
Your conversations
Owners and residents open Chat from the bottom tabs on a phone or the sidebar on a computer. Complex Admins and staff with the Moderate chat permission find it under Sidebar › Community › Chat. A count on the menu item shows your unread messages in the complex you are in.
The list shows:
- the community chat of the whole complex, and a group for your entrance (or block);
- your chats with the management office and with neighbours;
- for owners and residents, the assistant conversation, always first. The assistant’s answers are coming soon.
Moderators see every group and every chat with the management office instead of a group of their own.
Each row shows the last message (✓ when it is yours), when it was sent, and how many messages you have not read. Search chats finds a chat by its name or a member’s name.
On a computer the open conversation sits beside the list. On a phone it fills the screen; the ← button takes you back to the list.
Writing
Type in Write a message… and press Send (or Enter; Shift+Enter starts a new line). Attach up to five photos or PDFs with the paperclip. If a message cannot be sent, your text stays, the reason is shown and Try again sends it again.
Owners and residents write to the management office with Message management at the top of the page. Opening a conversation marks it read; in a chat between two people, Read under your message shows that the other person has seen it.
Mute silences a conversation’s notifications for you alone; Unmute turns them back on.
Moderation
Staff with Moderate chat read every group, the community chat and every chat with the management office. Under another person’s message in a group or the community chat they select Hide and confirm. Residents then see Message hidden by a moderator; moderators still read the text, marked Hidden from residents. Every hidden message is recorded in the audit log.
