Move rules and deposits

When owners and tenants may move in or out, how long a move may take, the notice and documents it needs, the deposit charged when it is approved, and the freight elevator or loading bay it books.

This part of the portal is planned and not built yet. The article describes what is planned, so you know what to expect. Planned under #826

This part of the portal is planned. Here is what it will do.

What is planned

  • Move hours. The hours moves are allowed, separately for weekdays, Saturday and Sunday. A day without hours allows no moves.
  • Longest move. How long one move may take, from 1 to 12 hours.
  • Notice. How long ahead a move must be booked, 2 days by default and at most 30 days.
  • Approval. Whether the management approves each move before it is confirmed. Moves need approval by default.
  • House rules. The rules residents follow during a move, such as protecting the lift and the common areas, in English and optionally in Armenian and Russian.
  • Documents. The documents a move must carry: a lease, an ownership document or the movers’ insurance.
  • Deposit. An amount charged to the unit when a move is approved. When the move is completed, the management returns all of it, part of it (the rest is charged as damage) or none of it, with a note saying why. An approved move cancelled before it starts gets its deposit back; once it has started, only the management can cancel it.
  • Move resources. On the Amenity booking page the management can already mark an amenity, such as a freight elevator or a loading bay, as a move resource. It is then booked only through moves, never as an ordinary amenity booking.

Owners and tenants book moves for their own units and read the rules.

Complex Admins, Org or Global Admins inside the complex, and the staff roles given the permission, approve or reject moves and settle the deposit, never for a unit they own. They also edit the rules.

In the Getting started checklist

The recommended Set the move rules step of the Getting started checklist is done once the rules have been saved.
