Parking map
See every parking slot level by level, coloured by who uses it, assign slots to owners, rent them out and turn free slots into visitor slots.
The parking map lays out a complex’s parking slots along the driveway, one level at a time.
Who can use it
Sidebar › Parking map, for anyone with View units. Marking visitor slots needs Edit units. Assigning slots to owners and renting them out needs Manage owners, residents & staff.
Levels
Each level with slots has its own tab: the underground levels first (Underground −1, Underground −2), then the Surface, then any level above ground (Level 1). The subtitle counts the slots on the level you are looking at.
The slots come from the bulk generator or its CSV or Excel import. Until a complex has any, the page says so; with Edit units it also offers Add slots, which opens the generator on its Parking tab.
The map
Slots stand in rows on both sides of the Driveway, with the Ramp at its end. A slot that has its own row and column on the map keeps that place; the others fill the rows in number order.
Each slot shows its number and its usage in words, as well as its colour:
- Owned
- Rented out
- Visitor
- Free
The legend counts each usage on the level. EV charging slots carry an ⚡ EV marker and accessible slots a ♿ marker; a screen reader announces both, such as P-112, Owned, EV charging.
On a phone the map scrolls sideways inside its card.
Slot details
Select a slot, or move between slots with the arrow keys and press Enter, to see its level, type, monthly fee, owner and vehicle. A rented slot shows its Tenant instead, with the day the rental ends when it has one. On a phone the details open in a sheet at the bottom of the screen.
- Mark as visitor slot turns a free slot into a visitor slot.
- Free the slot turns a visitor slot back into a free one.
The map refreshes by itself when slots change.
Owners and rentals
A slot belongs to an owner of the complex, who does not need to own an apartment there.
- Assign to owner, on a free slot, asks for the owner: search the people of the complex by name. The slot becomes Owned.
- Rent out, on an owned slot, asks for the tenant and the rental’s dates. From left empty starts the rental today; To left empty keeps it open. A rental cannot start in the future, end in the past, or overlap an earlier rental of the slot. The slot becomes Rented out, and on the day the rental ends it goes back to its owner by itself.
- End rental ends the rental today, and the slot is Owned again.
- Unassign ends the owner’s hold today, and the slot is Free again. End the rental of a rented slot first.
A visitor slot is released before it is assigned. Ended owners and rentals stay in the slot’s history. A slot assigned from the New owner form on Owners & residents becomes Owned in the same way.
Vehicle registry
Under the map, the Vehicle registry lists the residents’ cars by plate, each with its model and colour, its owner and the slot it parks on. Search it by plate or model — the spacing and case of a plate do not matter, so 35os512 finds 35 OS 512 — and narrow it by owner or by slot. A selected slot’s details show the cars registered on it.
With Edit units:
- Add vehicle asks for the plate, the model and colour, the owner (search the people of the complex by name) and, optionally, the parking slot. The slot must be one the owner holds, as an owner or a tenant. A plate another car of the complex already has is refused.
- Edit changes a car’s details, owner or slot. Remove takes it out of the registry; its plate can be registered again, and the audit log keeps the car.
When an owner or resident leaves the complex — their last unit or slot is unassigned, a transfer of it completes, or staff mark them as former — their cars leave the registry by themselves.
What is planned
- Assigning and renting out storage rooms from a map of their own.
