Sessions and signing out
How long you stay signed in, how to sign out of one device, and how to sign out everywhere at once.
Each browser or device you sign in on has its own session. Signing out on one device leaves the others signed in.
How long a session lasts
- While you use the portal, your session renews itself.
- After 7 days without activity it ends, and you sign in again.
- With Keep me signed in cleared at sign-in, the session also ends when you close the browser.
Sign out of this device
- Open the user menu at the right of the header; it shows your name.
- Select Sign out.
The portal ends this device’s session, forgets the context you were in, and opens the sign-in page. Your other devices stay signed in.
Sign out everywhere
To end every session at once, for example after using a shared computer or losing a phone, reset your password. Setting a new password signs you out on every device, including the one you are using.
A list of your devices
A page listing your signed-in devices, where you could end any one of them, is planned and not in the portal yet. Until then, a password reset is the way to end your other sessions.
Keep your account safe
- Never share your password. Each person gets their own account through an invitation.
- On a shared computer, clear Keep me signed in and sign out when you are done.
- If you think someone else signed in as you, reset your password straight away.
