Structure
The frame units are placed in: a building's blocks, entrances and floors, or a district's streets and blocks.
The structure is the frame a complex’s units sit in. A building has blocks, entrances and floors; a district has streets and blocks. Set it up once, before the units, and the map and the units table use it from then on.
Who can use it
Sidebar › Building structure › Setup (in a district: District map › Setup).
- Viewing needs View units: a Complex Admin, an Org or Global Admin inside the complex, and any staff role the complex gave it.
- Changing needs Edit units. Without it the page says You can view the structure. Changing it needs the permission to edit units.
The elements
| Element | Complex | Fields |
|---|---|---|
| Block | Building and district | Code (required) and Name (optional, up to 120 characters) |
| Entrance | Building | Code (required) and the Block it belongs to (optional) |
| Floor | Building | Floor number, a whole number from −5 to 100, and an optional Label (up to 40 characters) |
| Street | District | Street name, up to 120 characters |
- A code has up to 16 letters, digits or hyphens.
- Codes and street names are unique in the complex, ignoring upper and lower case; so is each floor number.
- Negative floors are underground, such as parking levels. A floor without a label shows its number.
Add, change, reorder, delete
- Add block, Add entrance, Add floor or Add street opens a dialog; a new element goes to the end of its list.
- Move up and Move down reorder blocks, entrances and streets. Floors are always sorted by number.
- Edit changes an element; Delete removes it for good, after a confirmation.
Deleting is refused while active units use the element (Active units still use this element. Move or archive them first.), and for a block that still has entrances. If a complex’s type was changed, elements that no longer fit appear under a warning and can only be deleted.
Start from another complex
An empty complex can copy the structure of another complex of the same organization with Clone from…; see Clone the structure.
