Chessboard and district map

See every unit in its place, coloured by status: a building's entrances and floors as a chessboard, a district's streets as a map.

The map shows every active unit where it is, with its status at a glance.

Who can use it

Sidebar › Building structure › Map (in a district: District map › Map), for anyone with View units.

The building chessboard

Entrances are the columns and floors the rows, top floor first. Each column is headed by its entrance, such as Block A · Entrance 2, and its number of units. Underground floors are not shown on the chessboard.

On a phone each entrance becomes its own card, and floors without units are skipped.

The district map

Each street is a card with its houses. When every house number starts with a number, the houses split into the Odd side and the Even side.

Unit statuses

Each tile shows one status, the first that applies:

  1. In debt
  2. For rent
  3. Occupied
  4. Vacant

Each status has its own icon as well as its colour. The legend counts each status, and the headline says how many units are occupied, such as 12 of 48 occupied. Until owners and residents can be assigned, units show as vacant unless they are marked for rent.

A tile shows the unit’s number and, on a second line, its rooms and area for an apartment or house, or its type for anything else.

Units not on the map

Units without an above-ground floor and an entrance, or without a street, are listed under Not on the map. Set their place in the units table.

Open a unit

Select a tile, or move between tiles with the arrow keys and press Enter, to open the unit’s card on the right. The card is the same one the units table opens. The map refreshes by itself when units change.
