Currencies and time zones
How the platform, organizations and complexes each pick a currency and a time zone, and which one a date or amount follows.
The portal works across countries, so money and dates always carry their currency and time zone.
Currency
- The Global Admin chooses which currencies can be used.
- Each organization has a Default currency for its new complexes.
- Each complex has its own currency; it starts as the organization’s and its admin can change it in the complex profile.
- Once amounts are recorded in a complex’s currency, it can no longer change. Until the finance module arrives no amounts are recorded, so it can still change.
- Amounts are shown in the format of your language, such as 1 234,50 ֏ or $1,234.50.
Time zone
The time zone decides when a complex’s day starts and ends, and so when scheduled runs, such as reminders and late fees, happen.
- The platform has a default zone, Asia/Yerevan unless the operator set another.
- Each organization can set a Default time zone; empty means the platform’s.
- Each complex has its own zone, starting as its organization’s. Only a Global Admin or the organization’s admin can change it, and changing it asks for confirmation; dates already recorded stay as they are.
Which zone a date is shown in
Lists that span places, such as the audit log, say the zone in the column heading, such as When (Asia/Yerevan). Dates of one complex follow that complex’s zone.
