Voting as an owner

Vote on your complex’s polls and formal votes, see your weight, change your vote until the deadline and read the results, register for meetings and give a proxy.

As an owner you vote on the questions your complex’s management puts to the owners. A tenant or family member does not vote.

Your votes

Sidebar › Voting (on a phone, under More) lists the open votes you can vote in, the soonest deadline first, and the Closed votes below. A notification about a new vote, or a reminder, opens the vote it is about.

Each vote shows:

  • its type, a Simple poll or a Formal vote, and Until the day it closes;
  • Anonymous when nobody, the management included, can see how you voted;
  • your weight. In a vote weighted by share it reads Your weight: 26.67% (80 m² × 60% share): your unit’s area times your share of it, over the whole electorate. If you own several units, one ballot covers all of them and the weight adds them up. In a vote counted per unit it reads One unit, one vote.

Vote and change your vote

Tap an option to vote: For, Against or Abstain in a formal vote, or the poll’s own options. Vote recorded. You can change it until the deadline. confirms it, and the vote shows ✓ You voted: For.

Until the deadline, select Change and tap another option. Your vote is replaced, never counted twice. Cancel keeps the one you had.

Once you have voted you see how many votes were cast and how far they are from the quorum. The results by option, with a ✓ on yours, appear once the vote closes, so nobody can work out how a neighbour voted from a running total. Before you vote, nothing is shown.

When the deadline passes the options are gone. The vote then moves to Closed votes with its outcome, such as Passed or Rejected, and its final results.

On Home

While an open vote waits for your vote, your Home shows it under Your vote is needed, with the option buttons, so you can vote in one tap. All votes opens the Voting page.

General meetings

Under the open votes, Meetings lists the general meetings coming up: the date, the time and place in your complex’s time zone, a link to join online when there is one, and the agenda with the votes it covers.

Under Register attendance, choose In person, Online or By proxy. One tap registers every unit you own, and You are registered: in person. confirms it. The card then shows ✓ You are registered: In person. Change lets you pick another way, and Cancel registration removes your registration.

Give a proxy

If you cannot attend, choose By proxy and pick another owner of your complex to attend and vote for you. You can search by name or apartment number. Only names and apartments are shown, never phone numbers or email addresses. Choose the owner and select Give proxy. The card then names your proxy holder.

An owner who already gave a proxy cannot hold yours, and if you hold someone’s proxy you cannot give your own. If you change your mind, change or cancel your registration: the proxy is withdrawn, and any vote your holder cast with it is discarded. If you vote yourself, your own vote replaces the one cast by proxy.

Vote for another owner

When another owner names you as their proxy holder, their meeting card reads You hold a proxy for Apt 12 on your page. In Open votes, each vote on that meeting’s agenda shows Voting on behalf of Apt 12 with the owner’s name and its own option buttons. Your vote for them counts with their unit’s weight, and you can change it until the deadline. If the owner votes themselves, their vote counts instead and the vote tells you so.

Past meetings

Past meetings, at the bottom of the page, lists the meetings already held or cancelled, with the outcomes of their votes. Once the management publishes the minutes, select Minutes to open them.
